When the Olympics Games were revived in 1896, they were about peace, celebrating the achievements of a few to lift up all, and hold up a mirror to the human race to show what it could be. It did not take long for it to become a dick-waving contest. Now it's about neoliberal profits and spotlighting the indulgence of the ridiculously wealthy in the face of enforced austerity against the many. That, and I don't have cable.
Essays, commentary, videos, information about political events, freethought, social democracy, history, and anything else I feel like writing about. Poems too, and a few short stories.

First they came for the Roma, and I did not object, because
I am not one of them.
Now they come for the Muslims, and I do not object, because
I am not one of them.
Next they will come for the trade unionists, and I will not
object, because I am not one of them.
And when they come for me, no one will object, because I am
not one of them.
Liberte , egalite , fraternite pour tous les peoples
