Muse (poem)

Distracted by your presence
Distressed by your absence
I ache when you’re far
And quiver when you’re near

I watch you walk
To me or away
And my body yearns
To worship yours

Across a room
I see you sit
That special way you do
I’m entranced
My heart beats faster
Suddenly I feel goofy
Awkward
Tongue-tied
