#Bodycount 2016: American Gunfire in Perspective

On the first day of the year 2017, the United States of America, aka Neverland, had 136 gun related incidents that brought about 39 deaths and 87 injuries, including 5 humans shot or killed by those who are supposed to protect and serve, according to the constantly updated figures from the Gun Violence Archive.

For the year 2016, Neverland saw within its borders a total of 57,717 such gun-related incidents with 14,930 deaths and 30,482 injuries, including 1,901 persons shot or killed by cops.  That’s 1901 shot OR killed; The Guardian list The Counted give the bodycount of those killed by cops as 1091, and subtracting that figure gives 810 as “merely” wounded.  Of course, that leaves out all those hurt, harmed, maimed, and crippled by cops using means other than firearms.

The number of Americans killed by gunfire in 2016 was 14,930.  That’s a higher death rate than many wars. 

That’s more than four times the bodycount of The Troubles in the Six Counties of Northeast Ulster (Northern Ireland). 

That’s higher than the number of Americans killed every year of the Viet Nam War except 1968 (16,899; in 1967 it was 11,363 and in 1969 it was 11,780).  In Viet Nam, though, it was the Viet Cong and the PAVN which were doing the killing.

The number of American military personnel who have died in the fifteen-year Iraq War and the thirteen-year War in Afghanistan is 4,425 and 2,386 respectively, which comes to 6,811, less than half the number of those of us we ourselves have killed in ONE YEAR.

Including the deaths on 9/11 (2996), American civilians killed in the so-called “War on Terror” count to 3,380, meaning we ourselves have killed four-and-a-half times more Americans than those the federal government, corporate America, and the Mean Stream Media have been scaring the hell out of us over since forever.

The number of Americans killed by Russians since 9/11, by the way, equals zero.

I’m not even gonna bother with conclusions or suggestions.  My fellow Americans clearly have their collective head too far up their collective ass to hear, many of inserted there willingly by the $COTU$ sanctioned power of “money as speech”.
