Bodhisattva (a poem)

What do you do when
You meet the Buddha
On the road?

You've passed through
The eye of the needle
And walked the length
Of the razor's sharp edge
You know already
That the path is hard

What do you do when
You meet the Buddha
On the road?

Everything you seek
Is within you
The price of wisdom
Is suffering and pain
Those who know
Will not tell
And those who talk
Do not know

What do you do when
You meet the Buddha
On the road?

You've rent the veil
Of Maya's illusion
And having nothing left
Have nothing to lose
Nirvana is samsara
And samsara is the world
The third eye sees all

What do you do when
You meet the Buddha
On the road?
And discover
That you are he?
